Hi Guys,
I'm not coming very often to forums these days as I'm quite busy, you see me sorry for that.
Myself and the team wishes you an Happy New Year and all the best for 2019
As you may know, keycaps are at sea currently and as soon as they'll arrive at warehouse in UK, your PPA.PL bulk will be prepared and dispatched towards you.
I'll be in UK at the same time, so I'll see for this to happen myself.
There's a couple things I've seen on the previous pages that I'd like to address right now
- VATO
"Jedni robią klawisze 2 lata a inni karty turbo w 3 miesiące... życie
Ważne że w końcu siem udało "
I understand your disappointment.
Like you, I am personally tired of these processes being slow.
However the team and I do not have the luxury to make any mistake; maybe see what happened with C64 keys and you might understand.
> Some more details on why it's slow.
Producing a board is way easier.
Once schematics, files & bom are ready, you send the whole thing to factory and a month later you got your boards produced.
> If you make anything wrong in your design, you'd see it on your pre production series and would cost you
only a couple dozen USD.
Plastic injection is a totally different beast.
Parts are huge and weight tons. Molds have to be made 100% after the models and models have to go through dozens of iterations before we can start CnC prototyping. For keys project there is also 18 different profiles. Cases only have 2 profiles...
Keys labeling is by itself a project inside a project. As complex or even more than molds.
> At the end,
ANY MISTKAKE would cost several thousands USD, and thus would jeopardize the whole project.
That's the reason why plastic industry is always slower than any board manufacturer.
And when something does not satisfy the team, we refuse it and manufacturer has to do it again.
Because we want the best for you guys.
Thank you for your comment Vato ;)

"Niech lepiej dokończy kampanie obudowy do a 500."
No.
Reason is because Cases & Keycaps have two totally different production lines & partners.
Only the warehouse in UK is the link.
Other reason is because keycaps molds & label printing lines are now available. And A500 case backers wants keycaps too.
Thank you for your comment Dorian3d ;0

"Witam.
Kampania dotycząca obudów A1200 też jest jeszcze niedokończona.
Pozdrawiam."
Wrong.
The A1200 case campaign is 100% finished and done.
Only missing part is related to backers with Serial Number badges.
These badges were produced already.
Extra badges and Extra floppy buttons are
EXTRA FREEBIES.
Extra badges because I disliked the quality of badges you've received with the A1200 cases.
Extra floppy buttons because I wanted you guys to get more options. But floppy buttons molds are crazy expensive....
So, again, I personally decided to produce these
on my own & outside the campaign.
As a commitment and thank you to backers who started it all with me and the team.
But yeah such production is quite costly and I couldn't simply pay all of it straight away.
That's the reason it's taking ages ( :( ) and I'm sorry about that.
Extra badges
were already produced as well.
If any of you isn't happy with that, you have the right to give your extra stuff to any PPA.PL Amigans, I'm sure they'll appreciate ;)
Thank you for your comment Ted.
So again guys,
Thank you for your patience.
Without you and other backers nothing of this would have been possible.
The team and I are doing this on our spare time and for a fraction of the budget that usually implies in such industry.
We're pushing our partners and engineers to always do more but for less.
Thanks guys,
And lets rock 2019 with more Amiga projects, because #AmigaRulez
In the meantime, lets see us in February for the keycaps rainfall
Cheers,
Phil
