Phil odniósł się do tego problemu wypadających klawiszy - i teorii dotyczącej tego, że być może tacki deformują klawisze.
Wj: ensure the keys do not come out easily from keyboard. As currently some of people experience the cases, that keys are to loose and they come out to easy
Phil: We're aware of this.
But this issue isn't as straight as you might think.
In fact, the issue comes from Commodore keyboards directly!
There are very tiny differences amongs the keyboards switches stem-mounts.. and on some keyboard the hole is a tiny little be more "wider" than other conventional keyboards.
I have the exact same issue on one of my keyboard where a couple keys come of easily.
But all the other keyboards are ok.
So there is not simple solution here and we can't change our keys stems at all, as it would jeopardize other backers who in return will not be able to plug their keys on their keyboard..
Its a chicken in egg issue.
WJ: According to keys - one guy have a theory, that it may be the plastic tray which is used for holding keys during shipment can make it... so when they put keys on track and it (keys) are not yet solid, it may break them somehow and make loose later. But this is only theory :)
Phil: Currently I'm struggling to understand where this could come from on our side.
The thing is, when keys are assembled on the trays they're cold for long time already.
So there is absolutely no chances that the tray could be responsible.
On the other hand, the tray itself is manufactured from the same stem model, to exactly fit the key mount.
And that's easy to control since if this would not be the case, keys would fell off right..
So far and through the tests I've made, it might comes from the original keyboards, since they had been many different manufacturers who made these keyboards for Commodore back in the days.
I did had some issues with original keys too in fact.
