[#1] Elbox & voodoo.card driver
I sent to Elbox this email some months ago :

I think a very big bug is present into your voodoo.card...

I wrote an article about that : http://warpclassic68k.blogspot.fr/2013/07/fichy-eng.html

For example, the small demo StarShipW3D use only 170 triangles... It's NOTHING for the 3dfx GPU...

We should have minimum 2000 fps with 170 triangles... And we have actually only 350 fps : it's ridiculus...

Back in the days in the year 2000, I had a Mediator with a 1260@66 : the small demo Gear ran a lot of faster than today with your updated drivers...

Please have a look into your voodoo.card, I'm sure you can fix the issue for a big speedup...

But not a real answer... Anyone could convince Elbox to have a look into the voodoo.card ?

With much faster 3D, they will sell a lot of Mediator for sure, users want fast 3D of course !!!

Thanks and good luck everyone !

I'm with You, but I think that nothing will change from Elbox side- sorry, there is no hope.

I also tried contacting Elbox, but no answer. I think they don't care.

There's virtually no money there - I'm not surprised they don't care. In such case it'd be a great idea to convince them to open-source the driver - but OTOH it seems even more unlikely.

Yes, look for this Radeona by Ratte

There is a lot of money to earn with Classics : we have to code and produce what USERS WANT !

Users want romable drivers, fast 3D, towers to fit their Mediator, low prices...

For myself, I still believe in Classics...

We only waiting for last hope for amiga -> Vampire 1200

I think the only way is to reverse engineer pci.library and drivers... I would not hope Elbox to be of any help here.

@alt_, post #8

I reversed the voodoo.card = it's a raw source, too much difficult to find what is wrong without any comments and right labels...

I guess the proper approach would be reimplementing it from scratch and using disassembly as reference. Lots of hard work, I think, but it looks like there is no other way.

Yes, maybe the "easiest" hard way !

Again, back in years 2000-2002, the little Warp3D windowed Gear ran a lot of faster than today with updated drivers...

Who have previous pci.library and Voodoo.card versions ?

Or anyone know Elbox here for asking ?

With old versions, maybe finding bugs will be faster...

EDIT : according to he history file, I'm looking for pci.library v4.2 and Voodoo.card v2.7

Lucky I am : I found on an old MMCD CDRom the pci.library v4.3 and the Voodoo.card v2.7

Who can check them ?

You have only to rename your original pci.library & Voodoo.card by pci.library.last & Voodoo.card.last and replace my two files...

After that, reboot and run the window version fo Gear : see if the demo is fast or slow !

Thanks for helping me...

EDIT : I found on internet the pci.library v4.2
