Definitely not. A Warp is a ‘Ferrari’ of Amiga accelerators with real CPUs.

Our accelerator was designed to replace the famous blizzard 1260. It is designed to have the best possible chip memory access at whatever speed we select. It is intended to be used with AGA chip set and enjoy all the demos that exist and will exist for AGA. In short, if you are a demoscene lover, this is currently the best option quality, price, performance without any doubt.

I don't like to make a market position but we could think that it is above a TF and below a Warp.

@juen, post #8

here is an example of a TF1260 at 66Mhz:

and now our trinity at 66Mhz

For those new to these topics, the most important values for c2p are the last two values of chip access:
writel and writem

TF1260 - 4.5
WARP - 5.9
TRINITY - 7.0 < (is the maximum value)

As I said before, at 50Mhz the TF1260 has very good values, but what happens at other speeds?

[#35] Re: Trinity 1240/1260 launched!

@Estrayk, post #34

I don't know. I haven't soldered mine. If the performance drops with higher frequencies, it can probably be fixed in firmware.
[#36] Re: Trinity 1240/1260 launched!

@snifferman, post #35

It can certainly be done, no one doubts that. And the same with the warp when they activate the on-chip cache and manage it well, I'm just answering your question with the current options.

What interest me about the card is:
1. is it compatible with FastATA
2. what are the extensions planned for it
3. Bustest at 100Mhz
4. Bootime in camparission to TF/Blizzard/Apollo. I own a Apollo 1260@85Mhz and this card boots really fast, in comparision to a TF1260 (Mhz almost do not matter, always kinda snailly)
5. Will there be some firmware update and how can they be installed

Pre-order: This is a pre-order, meaning payment is required at the checkout process.

Note: Due to the nature of pre-order items, we will not be accepting cancellations. Only 30 units of this accelerator will be made. Once the pre-order is complete, we will start purchasing components.

Delivery Time: Since many factors are involved in the production of this board, it can take up to 2.5 months to deliver. Sometimes, ordered items may arrive later than estimated due to various factors (e.g., customs).

Given some recent history with other products, I strongly dislike 100% cost preorder of up to 2.5 months delivery-time, yet with further delay possibility clause. It's substantial amount of money to risk. While you have to be safe so the customers buy the card they ordered, I feel it should be maximum 50% (if not less!) and the rest paid right before shipping when the card is produced.
Otherwise it sounds like crowdfunding the production and if whatever goes wrong... We - Amigans - already have been there.
100% prepaid preorder is a blocker for me and I don't feel it's right way of doing business to shift 100% risk towards potential buyers, sorry.

1. is it compatible with FastATA

Very good question. I would have a few more questions.

1. Does the card work with Mediator?
2. Does it work with Mediator in an 8MB window
3. Does it work with cards like Voodoo 3, Spider USB, etc.

And one question from me.
What is the percentage chance that a pci extension will be made for this card in the future that includes: RTG (especially), LAN, ....?

For many people this would be a deciding factor in their purchase

@jaster, post #41

From my perspective the killer extension for the trinity if possible would be a pci bridge like G-Rex, which would overcome the limitation of a 1200 Mediator. With limitation I mean the usage of bank switching, which prevents the Sonnect/PowerPC project to work reliably on a 1200.
To be honest I was also hoping that Icomp/Jens will try to build a pci bridge also for the upcoming ACA1240/ACA1260, but as we know the project is also not ready, and nobody knows what the capabilities of that port are. Fast GFX i think it is called, which suggests just GFX stuff, but the miniPCI port on the BPPC was also used in the begging to connect the BVision.

1. we have not tested it with fast ATA, sorry.
2. for a future expansion of RTG (p96) and USB (ANAIIS) but that is not yet designed. We make no commitment to ensure that this expansion will be realised, the board is sold fully functional as is. If next year we bring out the expansion module, it will be welcome, but it is not an obligation on our part. Although it is on our roadmap
3. I´ll send you tonight
4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3gyZCMCfm8
5. yes, the trinity can be updated with the Amiga's own BIOS and FPGA.

I see that there are many people interested (we have received the same question in other forums and private messages) as to whether it is compatible with any kind of PCI solution and we are sorry to say that it is not. We don't know if it works or not.
Anyway, I have been talking to the trinity team to locate a mediator for A1200 and do some testing.

TF 1260 works with mediator set for 4mb window memory.
Warp 1260 does not work with mediator.

I guess that only one expansion is planned be used at a given time, so either one uses RTG or USB. And yes I understand that expansions are on the roadmap and not ever certain to appear.

Z tego co widziałem w materiałach wideo taktowanie 060 zaczyna się od 66 Mhz. Karta startuje z takim zegarem lub 33MHz dla procesora 040. Programowo można to oczywiście zmieniać. Dla 060 widziałem film z taktowaniem 100MHz.

Yesterday Miguel Fides (the engineer who designed the card) and me, were talking about the compatibility of the mediator. He told me that it is very likely that it won't work but that he could make it work if he had a mediator. So we decided to buy a mediator from amigastore.eu to make it compatible. Thanks for the offer to send you a unit for testing, but give us a little time so we can be sure it is compatible and I will give an update soon.
