Osoby pracujące nad MUI..., czyli co źródła są oficjalnie przekazane, czy to jakaś odnoga? Coś mi się zdawało, że to jakaś odnoga, ale jestem ciekaw, czy może autor przekazał, odsprzedał żródła MUI, czy nie, no i ewentualnie co on na to? A może on już nie ma źródeł MUI, bo mu razem z dyskiem/kompem przepadły? Ktoś coś wie, jesli nie od niego, to od autorów tej wersji?

Wersja MUI 3/4/5 68k/AmigOS4 jest wersją shareware (brak możliwości zapisu ustawień) i wymaga wykupienia klucza na stronie autora:

Swój klucz do MUI 3.8 zakupiłem u Stuntziego dzięki uprzejmości Jacka Piszczka i bez problemu działa z dzisiejszą wersją: MUI 5.0 - 2018R1 dla AmigaOS4.
Czyli działają wszystkie klucze zakupione NAWET przed pojawieniem się wersji 4 i 5.

some clarification from my side about the current MorphOS-MUI situation.
in the end of 2003, it became clear to me that genesi had payment troubles.
instead of simply dropping out, i continued to work for free. we were all
promised repeatedly that the situation would clear up, so that was not as insane
as it sounds
.
after a few months without things changing for the better, i started to look
for alternatives. I did not want to hurt MorphOS but i also would not allow my
work to be used without compensation at all. My offer then (back in May 2004)
was to give MUI4 (and future versions) to Genesi for free (with all features
enabled, as always on MorphOS) and at the same time release MUI4 for classic
Amigas and OS4 as shareware update. i also thought that a unified MUI4 would
benefit everyone. the offer was denied back then and is still being denied right
now. MUI4 is almost finished meanwhile, even though development was slowed
considerably due to the unclear release situation.
so thats where things stand regarding MUI. there's nothing legally binding that
could prevent a joint classic/MOS/OS4 release, i just wanted to do things in
agreement with the remaining morphos-team. doesnt look as if it's happening now
after the recent public rants, but hey... maybe things will still turn out
nicely one way or another... you never know :)

What you find here is a fully PowerPC-native AmigaOS4 version of the
Magic User Interface (MUI) version 5.0. It was ported throughout the
development of AmigaOS4 by Thore Böckelmann and Jens Maus and added
as a contribution to the AmigaOS4 operating system with full permissions
of Stefan Stuntz.
As the version number suggests, MUI 5.0 is the successor of MUI 3.8 and
MUI 3.9 which was/is available for the old AmigaOS3 Motorola 68k since
nearly a decade now. MUI 5.0 is added to AmigaOS4 as a contribution
and not as an integral part of the operating system.
MUI still requires a valid keyfile like its old 3.8 version. Fortunately,
if you have been registered to MUI 3.8 already in the past, all you have
to do is copy over your old "mui.key" file to e.g. 'S:' and reboot your
machine. Afterwards, MUI 5.0 should perfectly recognize your keyfile and
will allow you to change all possible configuration.
If you haven't purchased a MUI keyfile yet, but want to do it now, please
go to http://www.sasg.com/ and/or contact Stefan Stuntz directly as he is
the only officially representative for accepting registrations and
generating valid keyfiles. Please hold back from contacting Hyperion
Entertainment and/or Jens Maus/Stefan Burström directly for asking
on how to register your copy of MUI.
If you should find any bugs in MUI 5.0 which do not occur with earlier
MUI releases then please report them in the MUI bugtracker at
http://muidev.de/newticket. Please provide any detail that might be
important and try to give a step by step instruction how to reproduce the
issue.

Mnie zaciekawiła informacja o zgrzycie z Genesi jeśli dobrze zrozumiałem translatora, no i to, że też marzyło mu się zrobić coś wspólnego dla amisystemów, ale jakoś nie było woli współpracy pomiędzy zespołami. Ciekawe jak autor zapatruje się na pomysł przeniesienia jego pracy na inna platformę np. x64 i bazowanie na jądrze Linuksa? Pewnie się tego nie dowiemy, bo ciężko z nim o kontakt z tego co czytałem na forum.

Some people were given MUI CVS access to port MUI3.9, more than a decade ago. As you may know, having access to a CVS file means you get access to all its versions. Past, present and future...
Co wyjaśnia skąd "osoby pracujące nad rozwojem MUI" miały dostęp do kodu MUI4 z roku 2006. A potem do MUI z roku 2009:

The 2009 codebase contains not just Stuntzi's work, but also code by laira, Piru, kiero or me (and probably others). And yes, there was a time that other people had access to the source (fact that I have then contested). I personally have never licensed any of my code to be used outside MorphOS. So yes, the unofficial fork most likely contains my unlicensed work.
MUI used to be developed on two repositories back then and whatever made it to stuntzi's repository was considered under his control. There's an issue of not crediting all the authors properly thought, but this is something he should have addressed when handing over the sources.

Potwierdza to tylko to co pisze AUTOR MUI: nieuregulowanie praw pomiedzy MOSTeam VS Genesi VS Stuntz.
Skoro byly 2 repozytoria a nikt Stuntziemu nie zapłacił mimo kontynuowania pracy sam podjął decyzję o rejestracji kluczy do swojego programu i komu udostępni źródła.
Jaca i Hens mogą dochodzić roszczeń ... tylko czemu tego nie zrobili ?
Co by było jakby Stuntz ... zabrał całe MUI z MOSa i ... zostawil kod Jacy i Hensa?
Ile by tego MUI w MOSie zostało ?
Przypomina mi to sprawę z ... Ambientem z MOSa i ... niedawną sprawę Tokaia.

Mozesz podjac decyzje odnosnie swoich rzeczy a nie cudzych to chyba normalne. Trzeba sie wczesniej po prostu spytac.
Moze sa na tyle dobrymi kolegami ze wiedza iz nie warto sie o to "bic po sadach".
A co by bylo a nie jest.
Jak widac MOSTeam respektuje prawa programistow i usuwa kod, ktory napisaly "osoby trzecie" (tokai, zapek). Rozumiem ze Jens usunal zmiany Jacy i Henesa?

... czyli najpierw autor MUI miał zgrzyt z Genesi, a później nie skonsultował tego co chce zrobić z MUI z ludźmi, którzy wnieśli też jakiś wkład w jego rozwój i mają podstawy by roszczyć sobie prawo co do swoich części kodu. Szkoda, że w obu przypadkach zabrakło dobrej woli i dialogu.
Przecież to news a nie wątek i dlaczego niby zamknać? Trzeba wyjaśnić/powiedzieć co i jak, bo podejrzewam, że wiele osób nie śledziło co i jak w kwestii MUI (rozwój, prawa itd.). 
W gałęzi dla OS4 odświeżyli.
